I spent the summer of 2019 in San Francisco interning at Simon-Kucher & Partners, a leading consulting firm. In this book, I have tried to shed light on every aspect of my internship hunt. I have also shared many personal stories to elucidate and emphasize on the hustle it took to make the hunt successful. At the end of this book, it is my firm belief that you will come out with some much-needed clarity to pursue your dream opportunity, be it a full-time job or an internship. You will not only be able to plan your hunt but also execute that plan in your own unique way.

“The Internship Hunt – A Full-Time Job” is an extremely powerful and inspiring story of an ambitious student’s humility, composure and patience, longing to make his mark against all odds. An amazing book with applicable suggestions. The book is very succinct and a quick read. Books on job search available out there don’t tell you about the “how aspect” of the hunt. However, this book shows how to go about it with legit examples. It is a must-read for not only an MBA student but also a non-MBA struggler.
This book helps with an end to end study of what goes into securing an internship or a job, and is written in a highly detailed, yet organised manner. The book provided me with some much-needed insight and guidance, on how to break-down the seemingly complicated process of looking for an internship (job in my case), into small, achievable steps. It helped me structure my search, decide a POA and made me realize the importance of being disciplined and consistent. Also, tips on communicating with people, supported by screenshots of the author’s Linkedin conversations, proved extra useful considering this was an area I always struggled with as an introvert. All in all, if you are willing to go that extra mile for that dream job or internship, this book will certainly prove to be a great guide.
The book is well articulated and to the point. It is a quick read, which is a very big plus point. The chapters flow smoothly in a planned manner. The book is honest. The author’s experience gives insight into what goes on behind the scenes when looking for an internship/ job. The work and effort that one needs to put in is not only for a few weeks before your degree ends, but also a continuous process. It has been both described well and delivered as a perspective to customize plans, aiding to fulfill one’s dreams.
I absolutely loved the book. I’m simply astounded by the amount of work Nukul has put into it. His persistence, hustle and ‘shamelessness’ has left me speechless. What I really liked about the book was how direct and succinct everything was. No flowery theorising – it was all to the point. Also loved how structured Nukul’s approach was. There is clear evidence of a substantial amount of thought put into it. Excellent work.
The book elucidates all the key components needed to land an internship. As a student, I must say that it serves as a great handbook, building on specific areas that need work. It’s an interesting read. Highly recommended.
