When the world had chosen to ignore us,
When all were left clueless and whining,
Amidst the dark clouds of failure,
You emerged as the silver lining.
We are not used to a leader like you,
We generally see them succumb and fall,
To immense pressure from the world,
But you are one who always stands tall.
From giving importance to financial markets,
To taking on Summers and his like,
You always know what you’re doing,
You know exactly when to strike.
It’s so easy to go with the flow,
What’s tough is to hold on and ignore the cries,
You’ve showed us with your rate cut Sir,
You won’t budge no matter who tries.
You let the world know we’re here,
Some were baffled, some had no clue,
That’s exactly what you had told us all,
‘I am Raghuram Rajan and I do what I do.’
The nation is blessed to have you sir,
Though it has very little time with you,
So please ensure you live up to your own expectations,
Because leaders like you are very few.
For me, I only want you to know,
Those who revere film stars, take it too far,
People like you are the real heroes,
The one I look up to, the real superstar.
