For my first birthday cake,
For putting your own dreams at stake.

For my first laughter, my first toy,
For my first cricket bat that brought me joy.

For filling my piggy bank with bills,
For keeping me warm during the winter chills.

For that 4-wheeled bike,
For carrying me on your back during that hike.

For filling my wallet at all times,
For not telling mom of my secret crimes.

For working harder to pay my fee,
For nurturing me in the shade of your tree.

For showing all that love… Oh wait, you don’t. But I know you love me to no end.

I know all your struggles are for my better tomorrow,
Thank you Dad for being there through my joy and sorrow.

You have taught me some of life’s most pragmatic lessons and I will always be thankful to you for the hard work you’ve put in to fulfil my unending desires.
