Competitive spirit.
A competitive attitude led me to believe that there is always a winner and a loser. That meant that my satisfaction, to a certain extent, was dependent on someone else’s dissatisfaction. It took me time to realise that collective growth and success can also be an individual’s victory. This applies everywhere: business (not only your company, but also the industry as a whole can grow), relations
hips (you may not be someone’s only best friend, but still a best friend), etc.
In conclusion, I believe one should compete to win, but shouldn’t desire to win exclusively. The latter may happen in the process, but it shouldn’t be the primary source of ones satisfaction.
