She taught me how to love.
She turned me into a man,
She made me love my life.
She taught me that life is beyond just my ambitions,
She made me understand perspectives and perceptions.
From finesse to fashion, from poetry to partying,
She was my one and only guide.
She loved me like only she could,
So dependent was I that I had no one else to confide.
One fine day, I decided to screw up,
That’s what I’d been famous for doing before she entered my life.
And we parted ways, cried for days,
I thought I could survive, but life became a complicated maze.
Now there’s a new ‘me’ in her life,
Her love, her friend and more.
But that doesn’t change my love, my respect for her,
Even when I see her today, in my heart there is a stir.
I am what I am today, because she made me that
I wouldn’t change anything in hindsight
I wouldn’t even keep her for myself forever,
Because I know she deserves much, much better.
I may fall in love again and love her like I loved before,
I may learn from the past and try to be something more,
But I know that my first love will always have a special place in my heart,
She has to because she is nothing less than an exquisite piece of art.
