God.
I’ve always had people asking me as to whether I’m an atheist or not. I tell them this-
I don’t believe in any religion and their respective gods. I don’t pray and neither do I expect someone to solve my problems better than me myself or at the most my near and dear ones. I am a logician and tend to look down upon those who blindly believe in any faith without any rational thinking.
That said, I also believe in the creator, not because I know he/she exists, but because it instils some fear in me. Each time I am about to do something morally wrong, I think of the creator and assume I’ll be punished in some way or the other. It keeps a check on my actions.
I agree with Dawkins, we don’t need religion to be human. We can be each other’s motivation and should believe in our abilities. Infact, if I had my way, I’d build temples that would have mirrors. Where people would realise that they are the only ones who can solve their problems.
‘If God is there, he’d be laughing when he sees you pray. If he had to do everything, why would he send you here? And if he isn’t there, it’s all in vain.’
Now atheist or not, is for one to figure out. But I strongly stand by this view.
I have not been diplomatic with the answer as I have no one to please, but I do not intend to hurt any sentiments here. I’d also love to hear what you guys think. I hope I was able to provoke some thought in your head too.
